A new president-elect

I know you've heard that we have a new president-elect. Of course, we knew we would, if not today in a few days once the votes were counted. We just didn't know who it will be until late last night.

I won't post a lot about the election, if you're like me, you're burnt out on the whole thing. One report I heard said that the election process started 22 months ago and I don't doubt that report.

I will post this item and possibly one other tomorrow after I've digested the information some more. But for today, I just want to say that future president Obama will be MY president. What I mean by this is that I will support him. He was not my individual choice, but the nation has chosen and I will support that choice.

Our country has lived through a lot of good presidents and some bad presidents. Two presidents have been impeached (neither removed from office), one president resigned and eight have died in office (four assassinated). I have no doubt that the next four years will see some good times and some bad times. Regardless, I will support the president.

One side note is that our constitution provides for the case where a president is elected, then is unable to serve come inauguration day. (There is a movement still out there to check Sen. Obama's birth certificate). If that happens for any reason, the VP elect (Biden) will become the president. I doubt this will occur, but I will support that president also

His Birth Certificate? Oy Veh...lolololololololololololol.

At any rate, let's hope America can proceed in a much more unified fashion than it has over the last 16 years. I was hearing some folks asking if Bill Clinton should have an active role in the Barack Obama administration, to that I say heck NO! Bill needs to sit his butt down. Honestly, I can't stand the man, he was a dismal failure in foreign policy, especially in Africa...some trick for Bill as the first "Black President"....

Thanks DJBA.

The birth cerificate thing won't go away, I figure it will factor into the impeachment argument which will (unfortunately) start soon. I hope it's a non-issue. At some point, someone (the courts) will have to declare the certificate that has been displayed acceptable or not.

As for President & Senators Clinton, I dunno what's going to happen. A few days ago, I would have said that they would be ambassadors or something. He's very well liked in other countries and could help us a lot. Or he could hurt a lot. If he was overseas, at least we wouldn't hear about him.

As for the unity thing, I'll probably talk about that tomorrow when I have more time.
