How many pillows does one man need?

I'm traveling this week and the idea hit me last night as I crawled into the king sized bed at this Hilton - how many pillows do they think I need? In this case, the answer seems to be five. Being the only one in the room and being unable to have a pillow fight by myself, that left four unused.

Don't forget my contest and your chance to win the $10. All you have to do is tell me who you think is the smartest president and why. I've had some good answers with votes for Obama, Reagan and Carter (you can't get more diverse than that). Read all about it here.

Thanks for a laugh to start the day!

I've noticed the same thing. The first thing I do is throw 4 on the floor.

I was in a hotel this past summer and have to admit that the body pillow they had was quite choice.

Neil, I do pretty much the same. But I got to wondering, with all the emphasis on going green - do they wash all of the pillow cases after every patron? (I hope so - if not, who slept on it last?) If so, couldn't they save a lot of $$ by only putting one pillow on the bed? 4 pillows times 200 rooms, that's a lot of savings...

Glad you liked my pillow fight line.

Thomas, those body pillows are nice, but the one at home is nicer. She cuddles back...

OK...I have to admit that I chuckled a little at the pillow fight line. And then I cringed at you guys talking about putting the pillows on the floor...I have to wonder now if the pillows are clean when I stay at a hotel. YIKES!

I've always found hotel pillows to be too fluffy. I always get a kink in my neck. But, yes, there's too many. One pillow per person is plenty. Apparently, many customers disagree, or else they wouldn't put so many on, right?

Ksyte, just one more thing to worry about. Bed bugs, flesh eating bananas, hypodermics hidden in change slots, snakes in the ball pen and McD's and now pillows. What's the world coming too.

Cameron, we recently bought a comforter and a store and the guy told me that you should have 7 pillows on a queen sized bed, 9 on a king size. I guess looking at it that way, I got gypped! But I agree one per person is plenty.

He didn't happen to sell pillows did he?
