My first attempt at selling a house back in 1984 resulted in me living in Charlotte in a rental house and owning a house in Columbia SC for a year. Not a good experience.
Second experience was better, when we left Charlotte our house sold for the full asking price in 8 days (Sept 1998).
I'm hoping this experience is closer to the 1998 experience than the 1984. With the housing market and the economy doing badly, and a rough time of the year (school already started), who knows.
Glenn, we haven't formally decided where we're going, but it won't be far. Closer to the mountains, maybe on a lake. When my wife & I married 8 years ago (this 9/29), we agreed to stay here until the kids were out of high school. The youngest is in his second year of college now, so it's time.
I'm willing to be patient and not reduce the price too much. We're not in a hurry.

That's great that you have a showing! Hope it works out. We've sold houses about 6 times and at least twice the first viewers ended up buying it.
Wow! That's encouraging news.

We've sold three houses as we've moved across country and each time the first to see bought it. If the price is right, the bite is quick.
So where ya heading for?

If you think we can fit all your stuff and you guys in our apartment, I'd welcome you. However, we might all kill each other before it's overwith.
The mountains are a GREAT place to live!
