When is a library not a library?

When you can't check anything out! See the article here.

Seems the Bill Clinton Presidential Library has a limited selection of information available to the viewing public. In particular, a collection of emails and papers about Hillary is not available and won't be until long after the 2008 election. Is she trying to hide something? How long did it take for her to find Whitewater papers? She must've used that as a trial ground to work this angle.

The story I heard on the radio said that less than 1/2 of 1% of all of the material from the Clinton days is available. This after Hillary promised us the library would be open.

Several republicans are running on the platform that they are the one who can beat Hillary. I've never liked someone who runs on a platform like this. But she is one person who almost makes me change my mind...

P.S. There's also a fishy report I heard about Hillary receiving donations from the China connection. I haven't researched it yet, but will post an entry when I do.

I don't care much for Hillary. She's always struck me as being a very cold person, the type that will say or do anything to get something and then abandon the people how helped her get there (though that's just my gut feeling). If she wins the nomination I think it's going to be like 2004 all over again: not voting for the Democrat, voting against the Republican.

As for Hillary's things at the Clinton library, I remember Bush did the same thing at his father's library. He had a bunch of things taken there and sealed for a few years. As far as I know they still haven't been released.

Surprised?

It took forever to get access to her thesis/dissertation.

David,
If you can find some news article about Bush doing this at his father's library, I'd appreciate it. I don't remember hearing it, but I could easily have missed it.

John,
No, not surprised. It also tok forever to find her papers from her law firm.

I seriously dislike candidates who are always anti-some candidate, but Hillary is one that could cause me to change my mind. I can see why so many are anti-Her

It's mentioned in this 2001 Washington Post story.

The paragraph starts out "Last January,Bush, as outgoing governor of Texas, shipped his official records to his father's presidential library at Texas A&M University." and is about halfway down the page.

I'll research it and post accordingly. Thanks for the pointer.

I finally got around to reading the article David suggested. Thanks for finding it and for spending the time on it. I know how easy it would have been just to make a comment with no facts to back them up.

To me the article was less about Bush hiding papers than it was Bush moving papers outside of Texas jurisidiction. I recommend reading the column to anyone who reads here.

David, other comments in an email to you....
