Gas prices - I need your help

I've promised a couple of people that I would blog about gas prices, but been slow to get 'round tuit'. As I dig into it, it seems a deeper and deeper hole. A black hole, a conundrum, and any other buzz word you want to throw at it.

All that plus, I have to make a living. As much as I'd like to sit here and blog all day, the reality is, my employer expects me to actually work (the nerve of some people).

But, I'm almost at the point where I'm ready to start posting and may even post the first entry later today.

I still need your help. What questions should I address? What rumors are you hearing? What subjects would you like to see addressed?

I promise that any question asked will be answered (at least somewhat) and I'll research all my answers. I will attempt to keep my answers devoid of politics (it does no good to blame the political parties)

Here's your first question. Look at this site, http://www.gasbankusa.com and tell me what your opinion is on the concept and any other thoughts?

Thanks anon. It looks to me like it's a way to scam the well intending public.

If you honestly feel different, send me an email and I'll give it more attention.

How did you possibly come up with that just from reading the site? What makes you think it's not legit?

Anon,
I'll tell you what, I'll add this to my list of questions. It may take me a week or so, but I promise I'll get to it. I have questions that I've been asked verbally, and then of course my own.

I leave my blog open to all commenters, but I have to admit that I get a little skeptical with "anonymous" posts.

From the July 14th issue of Time:
10 Things You Can Like About $4 Gas
1. Globalized Jobs Return Home
2. Sprawl Stalls
3. Four-Day Workweeks
4. Less Pollution
5. More Frugality
6. Fewer Traffic Deaths
7. Cheaper Insurance
8. Less Traffic
9. More Cops on the Beat
10. Less Obesity
Whole article here - http://tinyurl.com/65lwgz

But from Monday's Conservation post, your observations about traffic levels pretty much eliminate 4 thru 9. 1,2,3 & 10 will act like SUV sales, by next year we will have forgotten or gotten used to the $4 pain, and return to current levels.

By the way, on our trip on Sunday, in the opposite direction as yours, I noticed the same thing as you, traffic didn't seem any lighter.

Brian, I saw that top10 list and liked it.

Sadly, I agree, next year, we'll forget about all of this.

Glad to know that I wasn't the only one who noticed traffic didn't seem lighter. From all the news reports, I thought I was losing it.

Hope the top was down on your trip.
